PEGASEAS
PEGASEAS is a capitalisation project of the Interreg IVA France (Channel) – England 2007 – 2013 programme. Its objective is to promote effective governance of the Channel maritime ecosystem by capitalising on the results of 11 projects funded by the programme, including CAMIS.
The PEGASEAS project aims at:
- Offering new insights into effective Channel governance,
- Providing clear, powerful, communicable and coherent advice targeted to marine governance practitioners and policy-makers,
- Communicating and sharing experiences and practices,
- Providing an input to discussions regarding potential actions to be supported during the Interreg V programming period (2014-2020).
The main outputs of the project are:
- A compendium “ Towards Better Governance of the Channel Ecosystem ” issued in June 2014. The objective of the compendium is to communicate the analysis undertaken by the PEGASEAS project to identify key lessons related to the improvement of sustainable marine governance of the Channel ecosystem.
- A " Channel Regulatory Report " together with a " Channel Governance Mapping: Responsibilities, Commitments and Policies ".
- The Cross-Channel Forum proceedings “ Science and governance of the Channel marine ecosystem ” held in Caen on 2 nd and 3 rd July 2014.
- A guide “ Pathways for effective governance of the English Channel ” issued in November 2014.
